This course is for the intermediate to advanced rifleman. The student will deploy their utility rifle in a number of different scenario situations. The student will be instructed on and asked to show an understanding of; and proficiency in, the use of cover and concealment, appropriate target acquisition along with the proper assessment of the most expeditious threat. (Greatest to Least) As well as proper transitions from rifle to pistol when necessary.

The students will be expected to know how to operate their rifle platform – with minimal instruction – at a proficiency level that will keep the class moving along according to the range card and scheduled range time.

The student will also be expected to wear and be prepared to use – in transition – their duty type pistol platform from an external duty style belt and holster.

The major points of instruction will focus on:

The proper movement techniques with the students chosen rifle platform system (Per Law Enforcement Industry Standards)

The proper techniques for transition from rifle to pistol platforms

The proper use of cover and concealment while deploying the student’s chosen rifle platform system

(Per Law Enforcement Industry Standards)

The appropriate target (positive identification) while assessing threat levels facing the student, from (greatest to least )when engaging multiple targets/threats

Necessary Gear:

Rifle with 3 to 4 magazines

250-300 rounds of the the appropriate rifle ammunition

Duty style pistol

150 round of appropriate pistol ammunition

Plate Carrier/Chest Rig with multiple rifle magazine pouches

Duty Belt with multiple Mag Pouches (Pistol) and at least 1 Rifle magazine pouch

Ear and Eye Protection

Appropriate Range Attire

Optional Gear:
